Special opportunity for Local Sport Organizations to make an impact: 25 for 25

 

We are inviting local sport organizations to help us help more kids through a unique opportunity, “25 for 25”. 

 

KidSport Greater Victoria has a long history throughout the CRD of helping local kids living in financial need to access seasons of sport within many, many local sport organizations.  We are seeing an enormous rise in demand for our help – the result of ever-rising costs related to sport and especially to the overall financial strain so many local families are facing the last couple of years. 

 

We are hard at work to secure enough fundraising to continue to help every eligible child who comes to us for support – this year alone we anticipate we will distribute roughly $500,000 in season of sport registration grants (more than ever in our history) to support roughly 1300 local kids living in financial need. 

 

In honour of our organization’s 25th birthday in 2025, we have just launched an incredible fundraising opportunity: thanks to the very generous support of the Hugh Turner Memorial Fund, we have the chance to double the impact of donations made by local sport organizations, between now and the end of April 2025.  The first $25,000 in donations received from local sport organizations will be matched through this generous offer.  In KidSport terms, this initiative has the potential to help us reach nearly 140 more local children and teens living in financial need with access to a season of sport of their choice.

 

We would like to share with you a few options for your consideration:

• Should your organization be in a position to make a donation now and/or in the months ahead, that can be made directly through the donation platform button below. 

• Also at that same donation platform, there is opportunity to opt to “join team”.  This option enables your club/organization to create a fundraising page specific to you, connected to the overall campaign.  That page link could then be shared with your membership to request they consider donating.  Funds received in this way will be credited to overall project total/matching opportunity (and are tax receipt-eligible).

• If relevant to your organization, please consider asking your teams to donate leftover fundraising proceeds in this way.

• Please also consider opportunity to host an event or initiative within your club and direct funds raised to this project.
